Can't connect to phppgadmin

Hi,

I have Installed Postgresql 7.3 for linux suse8.2 and i try to connect to
postgresql pass through phpPgAdmin 3.2 but i can't because i get message
'php doesn't support database connectivity', so how can i pass through to
phpPgAdmin?

I have installed postgres and phppgadmin after I installed php.
