Postgresql 7.4.1 and TCP/IP

Hi,

I compiled Postgressql 7.4.1 and installed it. Every thing was fine.
Starting the postmaster I got the message, that the port 5432 was already in
use and no IPV4 connection could be established. Well, the port is not in
use and with an other port number I got the same result. With the older
version 7.3.x all runs fine. The database should run on a Suse 8.2 Linux
system. Can somebody help.

Did the message say "ERROR" or just "LOG"? If it was just "LOG" then
don't worry about it. It has something to do with IPv6 getting in the
way of IPv4, but you should still be able to connect.
